Megan Parks is a public administrator with over a decade’s worth of experience leading community-based programming and strategic initiatives to bolster the overall impact of non-profit organizations throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work from East Tennessee State University and began her career in state government in Probation and Parole and Children’s Services. From there she went on to operate federally funded non-profit programs at the YWCA in Bristol, executed enterprise-wide healthcare projects with Ballad Health, and directed strategy and impact food security initiatives at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. Through her public service, Megan found her passion for servant leadership encouraging innovative ideas and forward-thinking for teams to create solutions that will improve the lives of community members.
She received her Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with a focus on non-profit leadership and management. With experience in servant leadership, budgeting, public relations, programming, and operations, Megan intends to continue her commitment to the community by providing the tools and resources needed to improve the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Southwest Virginia.
In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, reading books, listening to a variety of podcasts, and doing arts and crafts with her kiddos. As a foster parent, Megan understands the importance of early childhood investment and hopes to bring her passions to work in order to generate a positive impact for the next generation.
